Horses of Britain by Lady Wentworth, with 1945 inscription
"To [ possibly Stanislavsky ], with love, from an Archaeologist (ci-devant) [before] June 6th, 1945"
The author of the inscription is unverified. Historian Joe Ferriss has provided me with a handwriting sample from Lady Wentworth as reference. Potential buyers are welcome to examine the sample. I am searching for a handwriting expert to examine the book and the sample, but I will not likely have an expert opinion before the close of the Auction.
